Graziella is the kind of mother who never stops fighting for her children. Despite facing a serious medical condition that prevents her from working, she’s pursuing her studies to become a Learning Support Educator – a career that will allow her to work school hours and be there for Jake and Kristina, the two children she loves immensely.

 

But studying while managing a chronic illness and raising two children alone is an uphill battle that few can truly understand.

 

Graziella’s childhood was marked by extreme trauma. Raised by nuns in orphanages, she learned early that survival meant relying on herself. She carried that resilience into motherhood, but even the strongest people have limits.

 

Now, living on social benefits that barely cover rent, bills, and food, Graziella faces impossible choices daily. When the fridge breaks or the kids need something extra for school, she has to decide what goes without. Too often, that means an empty fridge or unpaid bills.

 

Her nights are spent studying after Jake and Kristina are asleep, despite her exhaustion and medical condition. She’s working toward a qualification that will change everything – the ability to support her family with dignity while being present for her children’s most important moments.

 

“I’m not asking for pity,” Graziella tells us. “I’m working for a better future for my children.” She’s never taken a break, never been to Gozo, never stopped pushing forward despite every obstacle life has thrown at her.

 

Through the Women for Women Foundation, we can help Graziella with essential support – paying for electricity so she can study, fixing her laptop, putting food on the table, and covering school expenses. But most importantly, we can show her that she doesn’t have to fight alone.
