Ana Tortell is a journalist whose work centres on human rights and social justice. She amplifies the voices and experiences of people across Malta, challenging stigma and pushing for informed, compassionate dialogue. During her time at Lovin Malta, she has worked to spark national conversations about reproductive rights, domestic violence and women’s health, driven by the belief that a more aware society is a more compassionate one.

Her reporting and campaigns have also highlighted the realities of women seeking refuge in Malta, people facing homelessness and the challenges experienced by journalists on the ground in Gaza. Ana continues to use storytelling as a tool for accountability and social change, ensuring that marginalised communities are seen, heard and understood. Whether through investigative reporting, features or advocacy-driven projects, her work reflects a commitment to justice, dignity and the belief that honest conversation can help build a fairer Malta.

Claudia Calleja is a Times of Malta journalist with a passion for telling the stories of the people behind the headlines. Throughout her career, she has written widely about a range of issues that impact women.

She launched her website, Woman Unclouded, as a personal project aimed at “unclouding women’s hearts and minds by sharing experiences and expertise.”

The evolving platform brings together women’s lived experiences and professional insights to create clear, practical, and inspiring content. Claudia’s perspective is shaped by the many roles she inhabits – daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, and colleague – all viewed through her lens as a journalist.

These experiences place her at the heart of the physical, emotional, psychological, and societal realities faced by women across generations, and inspire her interest in stories that reflect everyday lives and concerns.

Her work is driven by a desire to create a space where women come together to share, learn, and uplift one another on their journey toward personal growth and purpose. She holds an MA in Journalism from the University of Malta.
