Dr Lara Sammut is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Breast Imaging, including image-guided Breast Intervention.

She graduated as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malta in 2011. She became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2015, the same year in which she commenced her four-year radiology training in Malta.

In 2018, she obtained a Fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologists, following which she sub-specialised in Breast Imaging at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan. During her time abroad, she trained in breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, hybrid imaging, PET-MRI, breast screening and image-guided breast intervention.
Dr Sammut holds a European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR, 2019) and a European Diploma in Breast Imaging (EDBI, 2023).

She is part of the European Society of Oncological Imaging (ESOI) Young Radiologists Committee and is a member of various radiological societies, including the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI), European Society of Radiology (ESR) and Società Italiana di Radiologia (SIRM).
